Core Shock
So I have been experimenting aith AI song generation, This one was created with UDIO (albeit I did a bit of remixing it was generated).
I am really not sure what to make of this technology, it does seem a bit scary and has all sorts of copyright implications to be sorted out, no doubt, But it is a really good way to start the creative juices flowing if used as a starting point. Lyric writing still leaves a little to be desired!!
Anyway have a listen and please comment below on the track in particular or AI song generation more broadly.

We took an old track created in the 80s, used Moises to strip out the Vocals and then set about recreating the vibe of the Original. Many thanks to Mark George for Collaborating on this. All in all the end result still manages to capture the 80s atmosphere

This was a song recorded in the 80s, composed by myself and my best friend Ken, sadly no longer with us. I've had to work quite hard to get the audio to a respectable quality and have posted it on here as I always enjoyed the track and it is a shame for it to collect dust and not get an airing. Anyway hope that someone else gets some pleasure from it.

I've been under a rock for 20 years and discovered Krakli by way of Arminator 2... such amazing presets in addition to the synth itself. Eager to try others.Even legacy items I never saw before look super fun

This was absolutely fantastic programming from the BBC back in the 80s. It told you exactly what you needed to know to get your band off the ground. I used to watch avidly each week. Thanks, Rockschool.

Hey can you send me a project file like this one you have.. I've been working with this program for about 2 years now all I'm able to do is make simple Vst I know how to do reverb delay and Lfo But I want to learn something more complex like this one😊 there aren't too many helpful RUclips tutorials... Can you send me this project file or something similar So I can load it in my synthedit So I can get some real practice in 4 change cuz I'm tired of reading the manual guide book😂😂😂🎉

Wow, a successor of the S3! Just stumbled across this video.... I was sooo happy discovering the S3 when starting with VST based electronic music again maybe 7-8 years ago; I always loved these string machine sounds since the 80ies (I still have a Hohner String melody). Im the meantime I'm producing a modular synth system, which includes also a String module 😅. I must try out your creation! Thanks for your creative work! ❤

I know this video is old, but it's actually refreshing: the people interviewed are all professional musicians, and they are adamantine in highlighting the cons of vintage analog instruments, especially the voltage controlled ones. Nowadays, commercial resellers in all disguises seldom even mention those inconvieniences, but the limits are still there, plus the unreliability that comes with age. Also, it's heartwarming to see all the enthusiasm about midi, computers, and digital synths: it was the dawn of the modern recording studio, without whom you would have to be Stevie Wonder to have access to synths and record electronic music. And, when people nowadays talk about dawless, they still talk 90% of the time about a computer with a digital software system, that interacts via midi. Some things do not change, only the attitude.

Being the owner of a real CS80 I must say I am VERY impressed by this. Normally every time I check out an emulation my reaction is: Sounds nothing like the real thing but can more or less be made to do so by particularly programming sounds which contain typical CS80 aspects. In other words: They CAN come close if you work hard. The same goes for the rather expensive hardware Deckard's Dream. Until I heard this one! It's the very first time a CS80 emulation gives me the feeling I am listening to the real thing almost all the time? The presets are very convincing. Furthermore: What could not be fully emulated (like the 5 stage filter envelope and the natural drift of the originals oscillators is more then compensated by the extras like and ADSR per low and high pass filter and a separate LFO per synthesis section. Other "modifications” also make perfect sense. Like the individual outputs / stereo options. Real Yamaha users had to wait for that until the CS70m came out. Then there is the very nice and comprehensive arpeggiator, although I would still have a few suggestions to make it even better. Even the ring mod sounds are very close to the original, so no need to too modest there. If it indeed does poly AT as well this is a very good emulation indeed. And all that for free? Negatives? Some weaknesses can actually be turned into positives when you are a creative programmer. The echo's and especially the reverbs are not up to todays standards. The funny thing however is that Vangelis did also not have too many options when he started using the CS80. On the first albums on which he used it (Spiral etc.) he was dependent on early bucket brigade delay effects and the echo's per synthesis channel on this VST incidentally recreate quite a bit of that sound. The reverb is indeed less impressive. Vangelis used a good plate reverb in the beginning. Old analog synths sent through more up to date digital reverbs are a golden combination anyway so why not let the rest of your DAW take care of that? My (non sponsored) verdict?: If my real CS80 ever breaks down indefinitely (and I constantly live in fear of that) I know where to turn to. So Mr developer: High time for a 64 bit version. And again: If you are interested in a few more idea's let me know.
